Quality of Life

It’s Portland, that’s why we’re here. As we grow, we need someone on City Council who is an expert on density and livability, who understands Portland values and what makes our quality of life so enviable.

Here's a webpage that I put together for our Design Symposium speakers to give a little taste of Portland.

A PERSONAL STORY

Back in September I was driving into Portland on the Banfield from a Gorge hike, and as I rounded the bend in Sullivan's Gulch, I saw center city. A site I remembered well from the first time I drove into Portland in 1976 after driving across country. But, this time, the city was much bigger. I thought about what a great city we have, even with all the changes. I had lived in many places before settling in Portland, and this town has it over all the other places. Community, quality of life, creativity, a strong sense of place. Beauty, quirkiness, allowing people to be the way they are. The city looked beautiful against the hills with a sunset behind. What a special place we have here. Let's make it better.
